Going out for a walk, watching movies, having dinner at a restaurant. These are the usual dating routine for most of us. Sometimes it can be a little monotonous especially for a couple who have been together for many years. If you are having uninteresting dates for quite sometime, you can look for unique date ideas in various books and magazines. Unique date ideas are helpful to bring back the excitement in a relationship, especially when it’s for a special occasion such as Valentines’ Day.

Here are some unique date ideas to make this year’s Valentines’ Day different:

1. Plan a trip to the museum.

There are a lot of things to see in a museum, which can always start a good conversation. You can enjoy talking with each other while learning something new. Remember to bring along your camera because you can be able to take interesting and unique individual or couple shots with art pieces/statues as the backdrop.

2. Spend a day at your local library or bookstore.

Reading is something that is meant to be enjoyable. Even if.. you are not an avid reader. Look for an interesting book together and it is a very ideal place to share and recommend books to each other. You can browse books together and read romantic poetry. Hop down to a cafe with a book in your hands and or spend the afternoon having a picnic and lazing around, reading the book you just borrowed.

3. Enjoy a day at the amusement park.

It can be a romantic location for dates. You can have more time to talk with each other while waiting in line and enjoy the fun of the different rides together. This is a very good way to spend quality time with other, having fun.

4. Go hiking.

Enjoy the beauty of the nature as you hike along and get to know each other more. You can bring drinks, snack in a backpack, and have a picnic afterwards. Exchange your special Valentines’ day gifts at the picnic.

5. Go to the zoo.

The zoo is a great place to go because there are many sights and sounds! Looking at interesting animals can be fun and there is enough time for both of you to talk about different things. Talk about your favourite animals, the animals you detest or afraid of. Or start creating a make-believe story of a jungle adventure while walking through the zoo!

6.  Enjoy ice-skating with your date.

If you do not know how to skate, this is the opportunity to ask your date for help. This is your chance to hold each other’s hands and be more comfortable with one another. You not only learn from the activity but also enjoy each other’s company.

7. Enjoy a tour.

Go on a city tour because there are many interesting places which you might not have explored together before. It is always fun to act as tourists in your own town/country for a day and explore places that you’ve never been before. End it off with a special candle-lit dinner at a nice restaurant.

8. Going to a music performance

If you are both into music, this is a great opportunity to enjoy your interests. You can bring a picnic basket and a blanket wherein you can cuddle each other while listening to your favorite band. It is also a good idea to go to an acoustic bar or a restaurant that has a live band. If you can play any musical instrument, you can visit a music store and act as if you need to purchase a keyboard or a guitar.

These are some ideas which you can use for this coming Valentines’ Day!

Have a wonderful time with your loved one!
