Men’s Guide to Keeping the Spark Alive in a Relationship

Contrary to the popular beliefs and assumptions shared by female members of the society, men are equally committed and interested in keeping the spark alive in their relationships. While women in general have been taught the intricacies of handling relationships and are better equipped on coping with the demands of family life, there is exactly no playbook men can refer to when it comes to relationship and marriage. Hence, we take cue from relationship advice help from the experts.
As succinctly put by to Dr. Brenda Shoshanna, the author of the best selling book, Save Your Relationship, romance does not come naturally and keeping the embers of love burning requires attention, time and commitment to constantly reconnect. One of the relationship advice help tips that she mentioned in her book is to give up those old routines. When the novelty of new love wears off, couples tend to follow routines and eventually take his partner for granted. As a guy, take the lead and by all means, break routines, plan something exciting like romantic dinners for no apparent reason, and infuse fun am spontaneity into the relationship.
For men, it is also important to understand hidden expectations. One surefire way to sabotage a relationship is leaving expectations unfulfilled. Whether you openly acknowledge it or not, we enter into a relationship with varying expectations, some of which we may not even be aware of. Take time to manage your expectation and determine if your partner would also want the same thing. Women, by nature expect to be constantly wooed and pampered, why not attempt to fulfill them every once it a while? Remember, a good and nurturing relationship is essentially a labor of love.
Most importantly, take time to talk and listen to each other’s dreams and aspirations. By nature, women love to talk, by all means indulge her. Some men confess that listening carefully to their spouses or girlfriends help them grow more sensitive to their partner’s preferences and interests. It’s not surprising to know that you also get to discover new things about her. The very fact that you are interested in seeking relationship advice help could only mean you want your relationship to last. So go ahead, and take time to celebrate your love!

Growing Old with You – Tips in Reaching Your Golden Anniversary

Staying with another individual and living with him or her for several years can be a challenge. But with love, patience, and understanding, anything is possible. There are stories of couples who remained happy and together until the end of time. But what really is the secret to having a long lasting relationship? Perhaps the best relationship advice can only be acquired from those couples who have withstood the test of time, those who have reached their golden anniversary and are still happily in love.
For Walter and Denyce Dearing, a chance meeting at a bus stop started it all. Walter and Denyce were visiting family friends when they caught each other’s eyes. Walter asked Denyce on a date and went to the pictures in Hull. After three years of courting, the couple finally tied the knot on October 17, 1959 at St. Giles Church in Marfleet.
Afterwards, the couple moved to Bridlington, Denyce’s hometown. There they managed guest houses for about 20 years, first at the Chevin House on Windsor Crescent, and then at the Dulverton on Victoria Road.
Fifty years later, the couple is still together and happily married, celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversary.
Denyce, who is now seventy one years old, said that the best relationship advice in a marriage revolved around the concept of give and take. It would be a lie to say that the couple didn’t have any arguments and misunderstandings, according to Denyce, but they treated it as a part of life and always managed to sort through the problems together.
Walter, now aged 74, said that the key to a successful marriage was to never be selfish. With a sense of humor, he also said that they were both too busy running guest houses to argue.
On their golden anniversary, Walter and Denyce are renewing their vows at St. Giles Church. The couple has one son, a daughter, six grandchildren and a great grandchild. With 50 years of marriage under their sleeves, it’s safe to say that the couple holds some of the best relationship advice to maintaining a long term relationship.

Speed Dating
November 9, 2009 by Patricia

Speed dating is a relatively new system of meeting new potential dates. When people go to a speed dating agency, they want to look for someone who might be a good match for them.
How it works: A woman and a man will sit at each table for a specified period of time. It may be two minutes or ten minutes depending on the speed dating rules that the agency gives.
During this period of time, the two will ask each other questions and get to know a little about each other. They have the opportunity to quickly get a run through on each person and decide if they are someone they might be interested in getting to know a little better after.
When the time is up then the women or the men will move to the next table and talk to another person. After each of the couples have met and spoken to each
other, they will be given the numbers of those they’ve met or they can say who they are interested in. If both people show an interest then they have the opportunity to communicate and go out together.
During the speed dating process while couples are at the table, they may exchange information with each other too if they hit off right away.
Speed dating is not for everyone but some people really like meeting new people and finding a date this way. Many people like this method because they get to
meet the people in person and talk with them rather than online.
It is said that if there is chemistry between two people, then it is immediately recognized during a speed dating session. Speed dating is also a little like blind dating because you’re meeting people you don’t know for the first time. If you cannot seem to find anyone you’re interested in for a relationship, it is a good way to make new friends.

Dutch Dating

Dutch dating, coming from the term ‘Go Dutch’, means that each person will pay for themselves when they go out on a date. This method of dating is often the best when both parties are new to each other, independent, or just friends.
Many people often like to go Dutch because they are not comfortable with someone else paying for them. This is common with women who are liberal or
independent in their thinking.
It is a good idea to go dutch if funds are low for both parties. Both people will split the costs of dinner or any other activities chosen to do on the date.
They also might meet at the locations or drive themselves so the other party isn’t responsible for their transportation.
Dutch dating can be extremely casual and creates a comfortable atmosphere many people are happy with when a relationship is new.
Some people just aren’t comfortable with someone else paying for anything for them until they get to know them better. In addition, they don’t want to feel as
if they owe them for anything later.
Dutch allows the date to go in a successful manner without the feelings of being ‘owed’. In addition, most women understand the expenses associated with dating and don’t believe it is fair that the guy should pay for everything, especially if the two go to an expensive restaurant and do something even more
expensive later.
There are many liberal and independent women who are very proud and prefer to pay their own way also. This creates a comfortable atmosphere because no one feels
like they owe anyone anything later on.

Double dating is almost like going out in a group, but in a more personalised way. It gives your date the opportunity to meet your friends or provide a comfortable experience for someone who might be a little nervous to go out on a one-on-one date with someone new.
Double dating is an excellent idea if you want to meet someone new and you aren’t quite comfortable with being alone with them yet. You can invite a couple you
know to come along too.
This allows for you to be around people you are comfortable with while you are getting to know your date. Some people like to go on a double date so they are not so nervous on the first date.
Going on a double date also gives your date the opportunity to get to know you through your friends. Most of the time, a person’s true colours will show when faced with different kinds of situation where that also means different kinds of characters coming together. Your date can get a good idea with the type of person
you are by who you are hanging out with and the things they say about you and vice versa.
It is a really good way to get another perspective on the person you are going out with or if you want your date to know more about you. It might be a good idea to invite a couple that will say good things about you if you really like your date and you want to see them again.
Double dating provides a comfortable experience when you don’t want to go out with your date alone but you do want to get to know them. It has pros and cons, cons being that your date may not like some of your friends and pros being your date and you can now have the same group of friends.

Blind Dating

Blind dating is another dating method to meet new people. It often occurs when someone is set up on a date through a third party, mostly a mutual friend of the couple.
People are often set up on a blind date through a friend or a co-worker who knows both parties and thinks they would make a great couple.
If your friend knows the other person as well as they know you, they might be right about the two of you connecting and getting along well together. You can even
go on a half blind double date, where your friend brings their squeeze along and you meet your blind date. It won’t be too awkward since everyone knows each other.
When you go on a blind date you might not have any idea what the other person looks like or you might have been shown a picture.
In all cases, the person you will be going out with will be someone you have never met or spoke to before. It is common to be nervous about going on a blind date
because you don’t know if the person will like you and you don’t know if you will like the other person.
Some people really enjoy being set up on a blind date and many blind dates turn into successful relationships if the you get set up with the right person.
You should try to know as much information that you can about the person before you go and be sure your friend knows the other person well before you go to be
sure the date will not be a disaster.
In any case, if the both of you decide not to carry on in a relationship, it is still possible to remain as friends. Afterall, a blind date doesn’t mean you’re in a serious relationship with that person, it’s more of a get-to-know-you better session.

Sure-Fire Inexpensive Dating Ideas

When I think of a perfect date, a candle light dinner in a fancy restaurant easily pops right into my head. Thanks to a number of movies I have already watched but things does not always turn out to be a happy ending (well, in film reel and in real life). So why spend half of your year’s allowance for a single night when there are other inexpensive dating ideas available for you to try?
Let’s start right at the start of the day. Invite your date for a cool jogging session around a peaceful village just before the sunrise. It’s a thrill to know that you will be able to see your date fresh from the bed you wonder how cute the eyes could be. Get to know your date’s favorites or talk about the things that make you happy and proud. Anything goes while you keep pace to each other with some occasional brushing of arms. Bring an extra towel in case you would have to personally freshen up your date’s sweaty face.
If you are not a morning person, bring your date in your house before or after lunch time and watch those old-time favorite movies over a bucket of home-made popcorn and fresh fruit juice. Scatter some throw pillows and thick blankets in front of the screen and move away four-legged chairs. Be sure to wear comfy clothes and ready some more bags of snacks in case your little brother or sister joins the premier.
Late afternoon dates are getting romantic. Offer a long walk towards where the sunset is soon to show its spectacular golden rays. Prepare to be kissed by the warm light and expect your date to dwell a little longer on your face as sunsets are bound to reflect out a natural glow on human’s skin. Allow some quiet moments for 3 to 5 minutes without even thinking what word should be uttered next. While there’s still some light, this is the perfect time to talk about some serious things in life like what your plans are or how do you intend to keep a serious relationship.
Now the day is ready to complete its 24-hour cycle but one of other inexpensive dating ideas is about to give you a calming trip. Climb in your roof but be sure it’s sturdy enough to support two people lying on their backs. Move a little closer to each other and begin star-gazing with your naked eyes. Silly questions like have you tried wishing on a star and have you counted them one by one are not that silly anymore especially if your date is smiling all night. So by the power vested by the galaxies, catch a falling star and make a wish!
These inexpensive dating ideas would only cost you less than a single fast-food meal yet the memories it will bring to your lifetime will keep you from getting older. Special things did not always have to be extravagant. Sometimes, love comes from the most unexpected places or timing. Sounds familiar?
